Jenn Zeek-Sweet

Winemaker/Lab Director

Rack & Riddle’s Winemaker Jenn Zeek-Sweet is a D.C. native who came to California in 2004 to pursue a career in wine – working her first harvest at Big Horn Cellars, and Lewis Cellars the following harvest. Jenn graduated with her B.S. from UC Davis’ Viticulture & Enology program in 2008, and took a job working harvest at Balletto Vineyards before moving to New Zealand for the 2009 harvest at Mud House Wines.

After returning to the United States, Jenn began working for Sonoma Wine Company (in the same building as Rack & Riddle’s current Alexander Valley facility) as a lab tech, where she was promoted to lab manager and eventually winemaker. When Murphy Family Vineyards took over the building, Jenn remained as winemaker, sharing responsibilities with winemaker Steve Fredson. With five years’ experience at Murphy’s custom crush operation, Jenn was excited to continue in custom crush for both still and sparkling winemaking when Rack & Riddle took over the building in January 2014.

“The pool of experience you get to draw from working with 50 client winemakers is invaluable – I am curious by nature so I enjoy embracing client protocols while also recommending new advances and sharing my own winemaking tricks.”
When Jenn is not at the winery, she enjoys spending time with her husband. Together they enjoy life in Healdsburg, and like to golf, ski and travel.
